All reference to Personal Data in this Privacy Policy shall refer to any personal information provided by the customer during the account registration process for any of the Cliqbox Services. When a customer uses our Services, Cliqbox collects the following types of information:

1.1 INFORMATION PROVIDED BY CUSTOMER

To register with Cliqbox, you must fill in the following information: First name and Surname, Email address, Date of Birth, Gender, Phone number, State of residence, language, a valid identification bearing customer’s name and photograph, banking information. Customer will also be mandated to provide login details of his/her choice (username and password/PIN). This information helps Cliqbox personalize and continually improve its Services.

Personal Data provided by customers are used for the following:
  1. To create account on the website/platform;
  2. To process and verify payments;
  3. To complete a survey or communicate about products and services;
  4. Personalize, monitor, review, evaluate and enhance effective service delivery on Cliqbox website;
  5. Prevention and detection of fraud or unethical behaviour/ activity;
  6. To fulfil legal/regulatory obligations;
  7. To notify customer of changes to the Cliqbox website or relevant processes;
1.2. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION PROVIDED BY CUSTOMER

To register with Cliqbox, we may collect some or all of the following Personal Data from you:

  1. Payment Data: Customers’ transactions, including deposits, withdrawals and payment methods used.
  2. Chat & Telephone Conversations: communications via our Website/platform (as well as contents of any messages sent or posted). Customers’ telephone conversations with our customer and operational support staff, call recordings for training and monitoring purposes.
  3. Email communications: all copies of emails sent to customer support team and our replies to such emails.
  4. Profile Data: Information based on our profiling activity which may include any Personal Data of customers held by Cliqbox.
  5. Usage & Marketing Data: these includes how Customer uses the Website, pages visited, contents viewed, links and buttons clicked. Also, Customers’ response to marketing activities (marketing campaigns, offers etc) and information about when email communications are opened.
  6. Social Events Hosted by Cliqbox: Videos and photos of Customer, medical data (food allergies, physical disabilities), photo ID, attendance sheets and contact details.

Cliqbox do not intentionally or knowingly collect any Sensitive Personal Data. We ask that you do not send to us nor disclose such Sensitive Personal Data save where required for a specific purpose.

1.3. INFORMATION COLLECTED FROM CUSTOMERS’ DEVICE

Information collected from Customers’ device when connected to the Cliqbox Website includes Internet Protocol (IP) address, domain name, login data, time of access, date and time stamps of transactions browser type and version, date of access, web page(s) visited, language(s) used, software crash reports, mobile network information, device information including the unique device identifier, time zone settings and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system & platform of other technology on the device used to access Cliqbox Services.

1.4 INFORMATION COLLECTED THROUGH COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

Cliqbox collects information using cookies and similar technologies to protect its website, offers customer a personalised experience, tailor our marketing and trading services towards improving our Services. 1.5 INFORMATION COLLECTED FROM THIRD PARTIES

Cliqbox may collect information about Customer from some or all of the following categories of Third-Party Providers:

  1. Identity Verification Service Providers: to verify Customers’ personal identification details and other information.
  2. Advertising Service Providers: Cliqbox collects information about customer from its network of advertising service providers who advertise our Services to understand our audience’s behaviour and improve our Services.
  3. Hosting Providers: Cliqbox collects information about Customer from its hosting service providers which host the website.
  4. Analytical Providers: We collect information about Customers from our network of analytical providers who provide us tools to understand our audience and improve our Services.
  5. Publicly Available Resources (e.g. Social Media): Cliqbox ligations and to protect its Services collects information about.
1.6 INFORMATION SHARED SOCIALLY

The Cliqbox Services may allow you connect and share certain information, content, actions, comments publicly or with friends/ acquaintances. Cliqbox cannot control the privacy or security of information you choose to share with others and shall not be responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of such information dispersed.

2. SPECIAL CATEGORIES OF PERSONAL DATA

In specific circumstances, Cliqbox collects Special Categories of Personal Data and information about criminal convictions and offences in order to comply with its legal and regulatory obligations. Special categories of Personal Data are collected for the following purposes:

  1. To verify Customers' identity
  2. To understand patterns and behaviours in order to detect any unusual activities in connection with Customers’ use of our Services.

3. USE OF PERSONAL DATA

Customers’ Personal Data shall be used only as permitted by law and in the following circumstances:

  1. To fulfil our contractual obligations to Customers (e.g., delivery of services through the website);
  2. For our legitimate interests;
  3. To protect the vital interests of the Customer;
  4. For compilation of anonymous statistical data and analysis to be used internally or with third parties;
  5. For publication of our events and competitions/offers on digital and print media;
  6. For compliance with legal or regulatory obligation (for instance, processing any Special Category of Personal Data in connection with the establishment, exercise or defence of a legal claim (including in connection with any investigation or enquiry by a competent regulatory authority);
  7. Where you have consented to our use of your Personal Data; and/or in the public Interest (e.g., processing any Special Category of Personal Data for the prevention and identification of criminal & unethical behaviour and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements);
  8. To resolve disputes and troubleshoot problems.

4. PURPOSE OF PERSONAL DATA

Personal Data may be processed for more than one lawful ground depending on the specific purpose. It may be used for any of the following purposes.

  1. To register Customer as a new member on the Cliqbox Services;
  2. To manage our relationship with Customers which includes notifying you about changes to our website, products and Services offered, terms and conditions and/or Privacy Policy;
  3. For customers to provide Cliqbox with feedbacks and reviews of its products and Services;
  4. To provide various customer support services to you (such as providing contact details for questions in connection with our Services and/or request certain information from us);
  5. For prevention of fraudulent transactions, monitor against theft and protect against criminal activities;
  6. To improve our Services, customer relationships and experiences;
  7. To send you marketing communications;
  8. To enable customer-to-customer communications;
  9. For marketing and promotional activities;;
  10. To process customer activities including deposits and preferred payment methods;
  11. To deliver relevant content and advertisements to you and measure/understand the effectiveness of the advertising we serve to you;
  12. To use data analytics to improve our Services, customer relationships and marketing experiences;
  13. To make suggestions and recommendations to Customer about our products and Services that may be of interest to you.

5. HOW WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL DATA

Cliqbox may share Customers’ information with the following categories of third parties who may be controllers or processors in respect of Customers’ Personal Data.

5.1 Service Providers

Cliqbox uses service providers in connection with the operation of its Services to ensure it delivers the best services. We enter into agreements with our service providers and ensure they take keep your Personal Data shared with them strictly confidential and for that purpose. Cliqbox is committed to protecting your Personal Data and we oblige our service providers to handle your Personal Data in accordance with applicable Data Protection Laws (National Information Technology Development Agency Act 2007 & Nigeria Data Protection Regulation 2019) and the terms of this Privacy Policy. Service providers are engaged for the purpose of platform services, website hosting, marketing services, affiliate platform services, customer support software service providers, data storage services, payment service providers, data analytics services and audit, legal and compliance services.

5.2 Identity Verification & Fraud Prevention Agencies

Cliqbox is subject to strict, legal and regulatory obligations to ensure continues use of its Services. Your Personal Data may also be shared with Third Party Service Providers (such as payment service providers, banks, financial institutions and similar third parties) to carry out identity check, conduct customer due diligence, monitor customer behaviour on our website, protect our website against any illegal use and any other activity considered necessary to meet our obligations. These Service Providers are required to handle your Personal Data in accordance with National Information Technology Development Agency Act 2007 & Nigeria data Protection Regulation 2019.

5.3 Statutory Authorities
  1. To comply with a court order for disclosure of Personal Data;
  2. To comply with a request for information from government agencies
5.4 Sharing Personal Data In Other Circumstances

Cliqbox may transfer all of the Customers’ Personal Data to a third party if the ownership of the Services changes or where there is a sale of all or any part of its business or assets. In the event of any of these occurrence, the party who acquires the data will assume the rights and obligations described in the Privacy Policy.

6. CONSENT

Consent shall not be sought, given or accepted in any circumstance that may engender direct or indirect propagation of atrocities, hate, child rights violation, criminal acts and anti-social conducts. Cliqbox maintains that consent shall at all times be obtained without bullying, undue influence, fraud or coercion.

7. MARKETING

Where a customer has previously used our Services, we may send marketing information about similar products or services. However, where you have specifically consented to receiving marketing communication from us, Customer can withdraw that consent at any time. Take note that if you decide to opt-out from receiving marketing communications from us, we will need to retain a copy of your contact details as they are used for other regulatory purposes such as fulfilling our Know Your Customer (KYC) obligation and adding them to our suppression list to ensure you do not receive any information about our future marketing activities.

7.1 INFORMATION PROVIDED BY CUSTOMER

A Customer reserves the right to give his consent to be contacted for marketing purposes. Customer can choose to opt-in to receive marketing communication about our Services from Cliqbox via the following communication channels:

  1. Email marketing: when you opt-in to receive marketing communications by email.
  2. SMS Marketing: when you opt-in to receive marketing communication by SMS.
  3. Call Marketing: when you opt-in to receive marketing communications by telephone
  4. Push Notifications: when you have installed the Cliqbox application on your device and enable push on your device or browser settings.

Additionally, Customer may receive marketing communications about the Cliqbox Services when he/she provides contact details and has not opted out from receiving marketing communication by post. Customer can opt out from receiving marketing communications at any time by using the “unsubscribe” link provided within any email received or managing his preference through the Account Details section of the website/application.

7.2 Social Media Marketing

Information provided to Cliqbox may be used to show relevant advertising and personalised content about Cliqbox on certain third-party social media platform made available through those services (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc). We do not control the way these platforms operate and collect your information. Customer is advised to read their respective Privacy Policy online to understand how Personal Data is used.

8. RIGHTS OF A CUSTOMER

The law gives you legal rights in respect of your Personal Data held by Cliqbox. You can exercise your legal rights freely except where this Privacy Policy states otherwise. Cliqbox may need to request specific Personal Data from you from time to time to help us confirm your identity and ensure your right to access your Personal Data (or to exercise any of your other rights). This is a security measure to ensure that your Personal Data is not disclosed to any person who is not authorised to receive it. We may also contact you to request for further information in relation to a complaint/request.

The legal rights of a customer include:

  1. right to request access to his/her Personal Data;
  2. right to rectification of his/her Personal Data;
  3. right to request partial or complete erasure of his/her Personal Data;
  4. right to object or request a restriction to processing his/her Personal Data;
  5. right to lodge complaints either to Cliqbox or to the relevant Regulatory authority;
  6. right to withdraw consent previously given to Cliqbox or its affiliated third parties;
  7. right to update Personal Data with Cliqbox;
  8. right to receive Personal Data and have it transferred to another Data Controller, where applicable;;

9. OBJECTIONS BY A CUSTOMER

Personal Data collected from customer by Cliqbox may be transferred to and processed in another country other than your country of residence (Nigeria) for the purposes stated above. The data protection laws in those countries may be different from and less stringent than the applicable laws in Nigeria.

Cliqbox will take all reasonable steps to ensure that customers’ data is treated securely and such transfer of Personal Data shall be done strictly in accordance with the requirement of applicable laws and to Parties who have put in place adequate controls to secure and protect your Personal Data.

10. SECURITY AND CONFIDENTIALITY

Personal Data submitted by customer is stored on secure servers which are encrypted and access is restricted only to authorized persons in charge of maintaining the servers. Procedural processes including but not limited to setting up firewalls and employing data encryption technologies have been put in place to safeguard and protect customers’ information against unauthorized access, modification or erasure."

However, Cliqbox cannot guarantee 100% security as no security programme is completely fool proof. In the unlikely event that any breach to customer’s Personal Data occurs, procedures have been put in place to deal with such breach. All such breaches shall be reported to the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) within 72 hours of its occurrence and will also notify customer of such breach where we are legally required to do so based on the severity and potential risks. Furthermore, steps shall be taken and remedies employed to prevent a reoccurrence of such breach.

In addition, we limit access to your Personal Data to those employees, agents, contractors and other relevant third parties concerned. They will only process your Personal Data on our instructions, and they are subject to a duty of care and confidentiality.

11. KEEPING YOUR ACCOUNT SAFE

When you create an Account with us, we ask that you choose a password/PIN and username to retrieve access to your Account. Password protection is used to ensure your Account is safe at all times and can only be accessed by you. You must keep your username, password and Account details private and confidential at all times. We encourage customers to use a password that is strong, not easy to guess and not to share your login details with anyone. If you suspect your password has been disclosed to anyone, please change it immediately to ensure your account remains safe.

12. PERSONAL DATA RETENTION

Cliqbox will not retain customers’ Personal Data longer than reasonably required for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. The precise duration for which customers’ Personal Data may be retained varies and depends on circumstances. To determine the appropriate retention period for Personal Data, we consider the following:

  1. amount, nature and sensitivity of the Personal Data;
  2. amount, nature and sensitivity of the Personal Data;
  3. the purposes for which your Personal Data is processed and whether those purposes can be achieved through other means;
  4. Applicable legal, accounting and regulatory obligations/ requirements;

When we no longer need to keep your Personal Data, it will be secured anonymously and this process cannot be reversed. In certain cases, we need to securely retain certain Personal Data to fulfil our legal and regulatory obligations. We may retain your PersonalData for a longer period in the event of a complaint or if Cliqbox reasonably believes there is a prospect of litigation with respect to its relationship with customers.

Additionally, where we decide to retain your information for analytics purposes, we will keep such information anonymously in accordance with applicable security standards, so it can never be linked back to an individual.

13. VISITING OTHER WEBSITES

Cliqbox Services may contain links to third party websites, plug-ins and applications where information practices may be different to ours. Clicking on those links or enabling those connections may allow third parties to collect or share Data about you. Customers are encouraged to read the privacy policy of every website they visit as we do not control these third-party websites and are not responsible for or have no control over information collected by them.

14. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

Cliqbox may, from time to time, change or update this Privacy Policy. All changes to this Privacy Policy will be published on the Website. Each version will become effective upon publication. We recommend that you revisit and read this Privacy Policy regularly to ensure that you are conversant with the current Terms.
